When the Heavens Open

Look what happens when it rains! The Boat Lake over on Matt's place has filled. Time to find the little ol' tinnie, drop a line and lets see if the fish are biting. Or if you wish to be alittle more athletic we could do a little 'windsurfing' or canoeing instead.
A fantastic sight. A full dam/lake

When the weather turns cooler!

There is always something to do even when the weather turns sour. Pa can find a job or two just to keep themselves out of trouble. Here Matt & Pa are cleaning some seed.

It goes from the green "beddie" to the seed cleaner, then out & up the shifter to the silo. Then all the 'crappy grain' goes into the bin that Pa is lookin at. Ma ma's chooks will love that stuff.

Young Jack

Smooches for Aunty Lou

Soooooo cute!

Ready,Set,Go!

There was just no holding Pa back once those beans were ripe, he reckons that they were calling him to come and get them off & into the bin!

And into the bin they go!

I think that Pa is at his happiest when he is sitting in his big red header watching all that grain go into the box.

Windrowing Canola

It has got to that time of the year again.

Pa & Matt have had a couple of busy days windrowing the canola.

Remembrance Day

Kara, Jack & Ma ma visited the Frances School for their 1st Remembrance Day Service.

All the children are singing the Remembrance Day Hymn.

After the Service the school held an Open Day to show off their fantastic little school & to officially open their new Resource Centre/ICT & Kitchen.

Shearing Time

Shearing is a busy time for all. Pa has to call up the shearers, find some shed hands, bring the sheep to the shed & yards. Ma ma has to get to & do some cooking then watch the clock to make sure the 'tucker' is kept up to all the workers. Alex doing what he does best, shearing the sheep.
Oops!!!

Look what Pa found out in the yard behind the shearing shed on Thursday morning. These little fellas couldn't wait till after shearing.

Bug Spraying

Just when Pa thought all was OK with his crops, along comes Mr Hood (the Agronomist) to tell him that the bugs are having a wonderful meal on his beans!! Now that calls for some drastic measures.

Mr Freeman to the rescue. He sprayed those creepy, crawly critters, buzzing up & over the paddock & house sending Tarks, Spud, Bella & Fergus for cover. I reckon that Mr. Freeman has some 'dare devil' in him. He is a very clever pilot in his trusty little plane weaving in & out of the trees & power lines.

More Party Pics

Time to feed the party guests.
Can always count on the ol' Aussie BBQ!

Just enjoying the sun, a full tummy & good company

Bing's 50th Birthday

Uncle Bing had his 50th Party at the farm. He invited lots of his friends & family to help him celebrate.

Here is the birthday boy himself & young Josh (the family's chief candle blower outerer)

Making Hay

Once Pa is in his tractor, he just keeps on making those little bales of hay. A few early morning starts & he & Matt have hundreds to cart into the sheds.

Now the unloading is happening. Who has the best job in unloading, Pa or Matt?

Pa says Matt has the better job 'cos he is in the shade! Just as well they take turns.

When they had carted all the little bales into the sheds, Ma ma got to drive the semi (1st time!) I didn't get to change gears or anything like that but it was good fun. Not enough to become a truckie!! We will leave that to Matt.

Taronga Zoo

Hungry work looking at all the animals. Time for the 2 legged variety to have a lunch break.

Sami's Patio Area

We got to try out and use Sami's paved patio area. It was done by an expert. It is a fantastic job. Well done Sami!!! The back yard is looking a picture with the new lawn. The garden beds are the next job. That's Relle's. Vegies in one and some flowers and or plants in the other bed.

Birthday Girls

Had our fill of party food, blowing out of candles and trying to catch the bubbles

Sydney Sojourn

Our trip to Sydney was not nearly long enough but we had a great time catching up with Relle, Sami, Alara, Nat, Julz and Lexie. We had a fun time. We went swimming with Alara and her friend Lucho, had an early birthday party for our 2 gorgeous girls, the annual mini golf tournament and a trip to the Taronga Zoo. We (Relle, Ma ma & Julz "the shopping queen") even sneaked a quick shopping trip in as well. Got to have that Retail Therapy!!!

Cuddles with Jack

Yesterday I was able to have some good quality time with young Jack. His mum, Kara wanted to get some jobs done so it was Ma ma to the rescue.

Bella

I am the real worker here. Those other two aren't much good. The sheep think Tarks is one of them & follow him & Spud doesn't know that you don't run through the mob. You would think that he would learn!! I direct the sheep from up here on my Dad's trusty ute (Matt). He then lets me off & I get to work sorting them out. They always want to go in different directions. They are a little dumb. Just as well I'm here!!

Our friend Bella, is the working dog.We direct from the back of the truck.
She's pretty good with the sheep.
