A Visit with the Grandies

We had a call from La la to come for a visit so we could be on Ma ma & Pa duty while her Mum went off to Armidale for Uni & her Dad was busy at work. It was a good opportunity for us to take Old Pa along as well. On the way we had an overnight stay in Echuca with Lexie & Mitchell.

Here is Old Pa & Mitchell getting to know each other. They had a lovely time together just chatting about stuff that only boys need know about!

Lexie helping her Dad & Pa laying down some crusher dust on the pathways.

Always time to have fun in the sand pit. Pa builds good sand castles!

We then set sail after our brief stop over with Lexie & Mitchell for La la's place in Cranebrook.

We were outside enjoying the sunshine & Spiderman appeared (Lucho) yeilding all his weaponry.

Pa was on a mission from Relle, he & Sami had to design & build a 'cubby house' so out with the pen, paper & calculator. La's cash register worked well as the calculator!
While the fellas did the shopping & made a start to the cubby, Ma ma & La couldn't let the chance for some retail therapy pass by, so off they went.

What progress they made while we were away. Old Pa was happy to sit in the corner & be chief overseer. Lucho came for a visit after school to see the progress & was suitably impressed. It gave him a good chance to improve on his carpentry skills as well.

On goes the roof.............

not finished but we have moved in..........................

After all the hard work in building the cubby house we decided to take a cruise on the Nepean Belle Paddle boat.

Pa & La checking out the boat before they got on

La was even lucky enough to be able to drive the boat. We had a wonderful time sailing up & down the river.

On Friday we did the tourist thing & took Old Pa up through the Blue Mountains. We had a look at the Wentworth Falls then on to.............

the Three Sisters. Not a lot has changed over the years since Old Pa & Old Nana last visited.

After a hard days work there is always time for a story with Pa.

We also showed Old Pa where Sami sometimes works at the White Water Rafting Stadium.

A pleasant time spent watching the rafters on the course.

Just a few minor adjustments to the 'cubby' now that it is in its place in the back yard.

After having a wonderful time with La it was time to head back home.
We decided to have another sleep over with Lexie & Mitch on our way home.

Kym's 50th

On Sunday we celebrated Uncle Kym's 50th Birthday with a Family get together.

Happy 50th Birthday Kym

We let Uncle Kym blow out his candles 1st.
Then.......

Jacqui had her turn

Then it was Hollie's turn.
(we had to keep an eye out for Josh, he would sneak in & blow them out when no one was looking.)

Toby and Jack

On the weekend we had our two little men come for visit & a play. Pa had just come home from taking the Old Dodge out for a wedding & it just needed an extra run to show the lads what an old car can do!

I don't know about this Jack, gee it is noisy!

Hey Pa, you can't stop now........I'm just getting used to its noise, and there is plenty of space back here to have lots of fun! (Toby wasn't so sure, its safer on Ma ma's knee)
Wear out Pa's legs first, besides we don't have our boots on!

Easter Camp Out in Scrub

On Good Friday after a little planning we, Poppy Hop, Nana Sue, "the girls", Ma ma, Pa & "the boys" went out to the scrub for a sleep over.

We stopped off to have a look at the the Mt Moffat look out. But the look out has not been repaired or should I say rebuilt. It was a casualty of the 2006 New Years Eve bush fire. We have lost count on how many times it has come to grief over the years!

We found a great camp spot on a big flat, with lots of fire wood & surrounded with plenty of trees to give us protection. It doesn't take us long to make ourselves at home!

Mindy & Spook having a nap while the boys talk

AND they are still talking..................................much later in the night!

We weren't in any hurry to move the next morning either. I think it was about mid 'avo' when we decided to go for a drive along some of the tracks. Thanks Nana Sue & Poppy Hop for a very enjoyable & pleasant camp out.
