On 1st September, Pa and Jack's birthdays plus Father's Day we had a get together at Matt and Kara's to celebrate the two birthdays. The kids had a great afternoon catching up and having fun together.

River Cruising

Mid July we said goodbye to Relle, La & Leyla amongst all their comings and goings (always sad to leave them behind) to join the Pietsch's, Krause's and Funke's on our House boat holiday. We had been hanging out for this blissful week of cruisin' the river with good company, plenty of good food,  the odd ale or two and some sunshine
.
On our way to board the boat we stopped in to catch up with the Heiny 5 at the Renmark Caravan Park. We had a lovely lunch with them and then off we went to load up the houseboat. Nat, Julz and crew came along after going and getting a couple of essential items for Pa that he had forgotten. They joined us for a couple of hours before we set off up stream.

We pulled up at an old campsite from a previous trip and enjoyed the sunshine

Everyone takes a turn at driving

 The scenery is spectacular

The awesome foursome

 Just chillin'

Loved all the camp fires we had each night

 Beautiful sunsets

We called into Wompinni Station. They are a very enthusiastic family bringing the station back to life after so many years of neglect. They have cabins and a camp and caravan park for visitors along with food to go. Just phone in your order and they aim to please. Plenty to see and do.

 Breakfast in the creek bed

We ran out of fuel! Had to tie ourselves to a tree to stop us floating on down stream.

The boss man had to come to our rescue with some more fuel. Not that we were very worried, it just prolonged our trip.

Thanks for the wonderful week of relaxation and fun.

Heinrich Gathering July 2019

On the 1st weekend of July the Heinrich Clan gathered in Halls Gap at the Baptist Church Campsite for our Family Reunion. It was a great place to gather and have a wonderful time together as a family.
We had a great communal room and kitchen and a big space for the kids to run amok.

Over night we had a visitor through the front doors. He decided that he was hungry and there appeared to be plenty of food in the bin. He had his snack and then had a play in the big room and found that he was unable to dislodge the lid that was stuck on his head!!!!!

This provided lots of attention in the morning and discussion on how to take it off of him.

No one was able to get close enough to him to take it off, so it was a phone call to the Wildlife people to help.
Julz, Kara and the little ones stayed to keep an eye on the Kangaroo till the wildlife people turned up.

Some of the more adventurous ones decided to do the Pinnacle Walk via the Wonderland Carpark. That is quite a walk with lots of steps, rock climbing and side adventures. Some may have found that a little nervous trying to keep an eye on all of the kids!!

Stopping for a breather and a chat

 Well done you made it

A few of us went off for a drive and came across the Halls Gap Zoo. We spent a lovely couple of hours wandering about taking in the views and viewing the animals.

Later in the afternoon we took the little ones on a trek up to the Venus Baths. Just a nice little walk for those little legs and a promise of an ice cream on our return.

With some effort we managed to keep Rory and Davy dry. All that water, it was sooo tempting to put the foot or toe in. They managed to do some very impressive jumping to get to the other side of the pools.

Our cosy little group in a dry spot if it were to rain.

When we got back the big kids were playing Red Rover Cross over in the park after having their ice cream

We ended the afternoon by visiting a couple of Look outs to take in the spectacular views.

While we were there is was Beer o'clock time

To end the day we had a wonderful meal and an opportunity to celebrate an important occasion.

Everyone tucking in to the delicious meal.

Aunty Jill had a special birthday in May so it was fitting that we as a family should keep the celebrations going and have another birthday cake. Everyone loves birthdays and cake.
Happy 70th Birthday Jill

Lining up for the delicious cake. Aunty Relle did a great job in making it special

Thank you to everyone for making the weekend so special. Love these times that we can get together as a family.
