A visit with Jack

Yesterday Ma ma had the pleasure of Jack coming to visit for the day. Now that Jack is on the move & crawling, (had better get some video evidence) Ma ma is finding lots of things need to be shifted, hidden or just got to be played with. It's all fun!
Look Ma ma, I am standing. (and I did it all by myself) Clever aren't I !!!

Singing along to the nursery rhymes. Old Macdonald's farm. note: Jack chewing on the cow! (Ma ma is having to re learn all the songs again.)

BBQ at Mr & Mrs Hop's

Sunday evening Rabbit & Sue had a BBQ for some of the 4x4 travellers who will venture up to the Flinders Ranges late Aug 09. Ma ma & Pa ventured along to see who's who & to get a good feed. Mrs Hop is the 'hostess with the mostess' Plenty of good food & good company with some laughs added for good measure.

'Sparky' (Trevor Carter) holding the floor about what ever!!

Tucking in to Sue's hot apple crumble

Must be good cos they are going back for more!!

There were a few morsels for the 2 girls, Spook & Mindy

Spook enjoying her usual spot in front of the camp fire. Why sit on the cold ground when you can have Dad's comfy warm lap!

Gathering of the Clans

On Sun 17th May we had the great joy of celebrating the Baptism of our 2 dear little boys, Jack & Toby. It was a great day to celebrate with the Excell, Olsen & Heinrich Families. Kara's parents, Marg & Andy Olsen travelled from Qld & so did brother Richard, Sally & children Thomson & Ruby. Nana & Pa Altus were able to come along as well. It was good to have Nana out to join in on the celebrations.

Pastor Thomas with the proud parents & Aunty Jenni, Jack's god mother.

Afterwards at the Playground in Mundulla. Uncle Simon making sure they all get equal time on the see-saw. The boys (Josh & Ryan) against the girls (Jacqui & Holly)

Aunty Sal, Ruby & Thomson trying out the little slide

Nana Marg, Aunty Carolyn & Pa Andy taking in the scene & catching up with family news.

Queensland visitors

Look who we found helping out on the Farm. Thomas & Edward Schefe's grandpa. Pa Blakey got to help Matt to load the ute & trailer with hay & then go and feed the ewes & lambs.
I think that he even got to drive one of the old 'Beddie' trucks for Uncle Leon & Matt.

A lot of story telling was happening while they worked.Pa Blakey throwing down the bales to Matt to load onto the trailer.
A very industrious pair!

Cropping Season has started

With the lovely rain over the Anzac weekend it was a little hard to keep Pa out of his tractor. Pa & Matt have it all organised now so it it full steam ahead with the cropping program. Pa is at his happiest when he is in his tractor burning some diesel!!
Pa doing what he loves to do best. Goin' cropping! All Ma ma has to do is keep the tucker up & be prepared to do some odd jobs at a moments notice.

Latest Happenings

We had our annual trip to Melbourne on Anzac Day to watch the Collingwood & Essendon match. It was a thriller with some controversy over Rocca's shove in the back?? We are still consoling Pa at Collingwood's loss. Pa reading all the statistics & Jason checking out the crowd. Spotty doing a spot of burning over the road.

Ma ma checking out Bella's pups. They have all gone to new homes. Hope that they have fun with the little fellas.

Young Jack having a tub in amongst all those bubbles.

Pa & Matt putting the finishing touches to the air seeder. A new small seeds box installed along with new tubes.

All set to feed the sheep. Tarks & Spud on top to make sure it is all done correctly.

Easter in Echuca

We decided to spend Easter with Nathan, Julz & Lexie in Echuca. Their 1st Easter in a new town & it was a good enough excuse to go visit again. Lou, Steve & Toby come up as well. Matt stayed at home to look after the farm & do some more painting. Kara & Jack were holidaying in Qld with the Olsen Family.
Pa was the 1st port of call in the mornings for a story & a chat!

Come on Jas, this is how it is done!! Brekkie time.

Toby & Aunty Lou having some 'tummy time' in Lexie's play room

Who is the easter bunny?
Lexie looking over her stash!

Gemma had eggs hiding in her pram & Miss Lexie found them all. Quite a stash she ended up with in her bucket.

Gotta have the family photo!!

Hanging together on the kiddie couch. Love them stripes!!

A lazy picnic lunch by the Murray to end a wonderful weekend.
Thanks Julz, Nat & Lexie for a great time.
